Every time we get a new foster kid, I wish after time passes, that I would have kept up with the changes that happened in their lives and ours as we journey on together.
Even though Haidyn has been with us six months now & tons of changes have already occurred, I thought it might be fun to start right here & now. No time like the present.
So.... a little background:
6 year old boy
Bright, active, caring
Misdiagnosed as ADD
In DHS custody since 6/09
In our custody since 11/09
Passed to 2nd grade even though he isn't on grade level. Working with him over summer to catch up. (Public school logic)
Tested as gifted
The first two months were very grueling. I wasn't use to having a small child, dependent on me for EVERYTHING around the house. Now 7 months later, doesn't seem that bad.
Building trust for both of us was hard, but he really wants to be good and he really tries. :)
Okay and now we are off to the races!
